Since owning Shine Hair & Beauty in October 2018, it has been Sonia’s passion to bring quality and an environmentally conscious salon to not only the Dungog Shire but beyond. High education and awareness are forefront at Shine Hair and Beauty. Client’s intelligence and awareness of what they want and need is valued immensely. It is Sonia’s aim in providing a salon of peace, harmony and a love of all things Hair & Beauty. A sanctuary away from the busy lifestyles that we all live.

Sonia comes from a long career in Administration and the Hair and Beauty industry. In 2022 she completed her Scissor Licence under the education of Elite Hair Education, Colouring Education with Keune and in 2025 completed her Hairdressing Certificate and is now actively cutting and styling Hair. Sonia is a proud member of the Australian Hair Council, Hunter Business Chamber, Dungog District Chamber of Commerce and Clarence Town Progress Association. She had been a Committee member of the Dungog Chamber for 5 years and was Vice President for 2022.

Senior Stylist

Melissa is our Senior Stylist at Shine Hair and Beauty and brings with her over 25 years’ experience in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy.

Melissa is an experienced Stylist who listens to our clients’ needs and wants and educates them in all aspects of Hairdressing from Colouring, cutting, styling and of course Curly Hair cutting and colouring.

You will find Melissa at the Salon Tuesday’s to Thursday’s along with her elegant country personality and creativity.

Beauty Therapist

Ellen is our Beautician at Shine Hair and Beauty. After graduating from the Diploma in Beauty Therapy in 2019, she has harnessed her skills and loves to pamper and educate all things Beauty to our clients. Since joining the Shine Team, Ellen has completed training in Eyelash Extensions, Lash Lifting and Skin Needling, and is having amazing results with clients being beyond happy with their treatments.

Ellen is at the Salon from Tuesday’s to Saturday’s providing amazing pampering and relaxing treatments that we all deserve in our busy lives.
